Many people buy these precious items out of a sheer passion for beauty and create their own collections. The other part of people buy paintings or sculptures for profit. For example, musician Eric Clapton, in 2001, purchased a collection of several abstract works of art from Gerhard Richter for £ 2 million. Eleven years later, he sold one out of three paintings in this collection for around £ 34m. You don’t have to spend so much money on art. There are also much cheaper paintings and other works of art that you can buy from aspiring painters for very little money. When you buy such a painting, you never know if, after a dozen or so years, he will not become a famous painter, and his works may be worth a fortune. If you are just investing, you do not need a lot of time for it, you can hire an agent who will check opportunities and attractive offers for you. You can also participate in various types of auctions. When a painter starts to paint, he can get carried away by his passion and breath, and he paints all the time for many hours. As for the risk, I found a lot of information that works of art like to be counterfeited. In the case of large investments, it is recommended to be extremely careful and use the services of proven specialists who will assess the originality of a given work. You imagine it, you spend £ 10m on an image that turns out to be just a copy. It is scary to think what a person feels in such a moment, it is certainly not a joyful feeling.

More and more contemporary artists take advantage of the Internet, which is a great way to show their work to the whole world. You don’t have to be an artist to get paid for your artwork, but the fact is that this is a solution for people who have the capital. Although not entirely on the Internet you can find many websites with works of art of much less value, not counting in the millions. Lots of contemporary artists put up their works for sale, which you can buy. Another thing, investment in art is also a great place to invest your capital. Die-hard art enthusiasts, once they acquire the collections they desire, they will not give them back so easily. For some it is a business, for others it is a passion.

For more ideas for earning money, check out an eBook I once wrote looking for ways and ideas for yourself. On the website www.526pomyslow.pl

1. Collector coins.

There are many such collector coins, medieval, collector’s, ancient, special editions. The problem is that it can be hard to sell. At one auction I saw a coin: JULIUSZ CEZAR one denarius – an elephant. The cost is PLN 4,000. But nobody even bids for it. You would have to find good customers from this target group. Maybe you have some old coins buried deep in the closet, check their value.

2. Collector’s banknotes.

You can buy collector banknotes at various auctions on the internet, but as with coins, it can be difficult to sell them later, unless you are a collector and buy them only for yourself. Then you don’t have to worry about it. The Polish National Bank even issues such banknotes. At one of the auctions, I noticed a sale offer, which, as the seller writes, has a UNIQUE BANKNOTE of PLN 50 WITH JOHN PAUL II, price of PLN 150,000. First issues of the US dollar, or so-called typographical errors, can also be worth a lot.

3. Antiques.

You can restore them or find attractive deals and sell them to your target group. If you’ve been on the topic for a long time and are known to be an art and antiques dealer, you probably won’t have much trouble selling them. At US auctions, I saw something western, authentic, old bar that sold for $ 200,000. At the Polish auction, I saw a similar one, made like the original, for PLN 30,000. Maybe this is some way to create antiques like the original and look for customers who are interested in art but can’t afford to buy original pieces.

4. Painting.

Perhaps an artist or painter will read this eBook. Painting pictures and creating works of art is a very time-consuming activity, but when it’s your passion, you don’t look at it that way. You just create, flow away to another world. The problem comes when you don’t sell your creations. Maybe you don’t know how or you just don’t even think about it. As long as you do good marketing and advertising, you can make very good money on it. There is no better way to earn money than to earn money for the things you enjoy. Good luck to all artists :).

5. Sculpture.

According to one of the rankings, the most expensive sculpture that was sold was the work entitled: Reclining Figure: Festival, amounting to approximately $ 33,000,000. Surely you’ve seen sculptures of famous movie characters, such as Transformers, in shopping malls. Someone had to create it too, and they didn’t do it for free.

6. Promotion of the artist.

You can look for a rising star among artists, invest in its development, so that his works will be even better. Then promote his works and help him sell them, of course with fair profit for you and the artist. It’s a matter of getting along. When it comes to investing in another person, recently a friend of mine told me a very inspiring story about a boy and a lady who invested in his talent to renovate old antique furniture. The lady in question has invested over PLN 40,000 in the development of this boy. For training and various technical and practical courses. Together, they opened a company that deals with the renovation of old antique furniture throughout Europe. The amount she invested in this boy has been recovered with great interest and is still earning money on the company she runs with this boy.

7. Art gallery.

It is not a cheap investment and it is rather an idea for the persistent, for whom art is a passion, not just a form of earning. First of all, you have to have your personal brand and contacts established, without that it can be very difficult.

8. Internet art gallery.

Nothing prevents you from setting up a website as an online store, where artists will be able to display their paintings, sculptures or other works. Such a website was created only for artists. In addition, you can buy paintings or other works, e.g. at auctions or in art galleries, and exhibit them in your store. You can add a number of useful options for artists who want their offers to be more visible to others. Yes, I mean something like a featured offer, promote an offer or other paid additional solutions that you could earn money on.

9. Pictures.

I would treat it as a long-term investment. It is also a good solution for securing your capital. The prices of paintings by famous artists are rather objects of desire. When you are the only one who has an original that many other art collectors would like to have, and there are plenty of them, they will be happy to buy it from you for the right price. Unfortunately, this is a solution for people with a rather large wallet. The paintings of the most famous artists are very expensive. Often worth millions of dollars. Now you may not be able to afford such an investment, but in a few or a dozen years, when you are a millionaire, who knows :). Then it will be worth rethinking this topic. One more small example. When Hugh Grant bought the portrait of Elizabeth Taylor, he paid about £ 2 million for it. After 6 years, he sold it for around 13 million pounds. After all, well-placed capital and good profit. The painting in question is the work of Andy Warhol.
